Hi Bianca, Tell us about yourself and what you do?
Hi! I’m Bianca O’Neill, and I’m a writer and journalist. Mostly I cover the fashion industry, feminism, pop culture, and media theory in my articles as a journalist. I write thriller/sci-fi for fun, and am working on a few non-fiction short stories and potential books. Hopefully coming soon!

What inspired you to become a journalist?
I have a lot of opinions (ha!) and I love learning about new topics, researching stats, and bringing it all together in some sort of critical analysis that is accessible to a reader like myself. Most of the time, my articles are born out of me wanting to read something about the topic, but not being able to find what I’m looking for.

What does a typical day for you look like?
I’m a freelancer, and a mum of two boys under four, so every day is different. Two days a week I take one of my boys out for a mum day, so on those days you’ll probably find me at the museum, art gallery, or the park. On my work days, I usually start with coffee and emails, generally attend a press conference or some sort of event or launch during the day, then read hours worth of research for upcoming articles, or write either a (probably overdue) column or tinker with my latest sci-fi or non-fiction project.

You’ve now tried our products. What do you think?
I love the Minty Cleansing Balm - this style of balm instead of a classic cleanser has grown so much in popularity lately. The Golden Gem Face Cream is a luxe product that doesn’t go on too thick - perfect for a product you use twice daily. I can’t use thick creams - they clog my pores!

How do you juggle mum/family life with your busy schedule?
You don’t really, especially when they’re young. You just survive, and have a lot of help from your hopefully amazing and very supportive partner. And feel guilty a lot.

Can you share with us your personal skincare rituals at home?
I love natural products without too many chemicals or actives, as I like to keep it really basic on a day-to-day basis. Cleanser, a great serum, and a moisturiser or face oil by morning, the same by night with the addition of a mask or eye cream. Leave the heavy stuff to the professionals!

Which beauty trends have you tried this year?
As a journalist with a lovely community on Instagram (@bianca.oneill), I am invited to try different experiences and products on a regular basis. This year I’ve tried everything from a buccal facial (including massage inside your mouth!) to serum infused with 24k gold, and more. Perhaps surprisingly, most beauty trends I try are pretty amazing, and often work quite well! But I’ve also written about a lot of damaging TikTok beauty trends that people are trying at home… again, leave it to the professionals, and keep it clean and easy at home!
